What is CDS 1 and CDS 2 ?
The UPSC will publish the CDS 2 2025 notification on May 28, 2025 on the official website. Along with the notification application process will begin. The application deadline is June 17, 2025. CDS 1 Calender Overview
- The Combined Defence Services (CDS) 1 2025 exam was conducted on April 13, 2025 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
- The exam was given in three shifts: morning (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM for English),
- Afternoon (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM for General Knowledge), and evening (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM for Elementary Mathematics.
Eligiblity
- To be eligible to apply for CDS 1 2025, one has to be a citizen of India, aged 19-24 years (23 years for Air Force Academy, 22 years for Indian Naval Academy) or 25 years for Officers Training Academy, and possess a graduation degree. Apart from that, they need to fulfill certain medical and physical criteria.
- Nationality: Indian
- Indian Military Academy (IMA): 19-24 years.
- Indian Naval Academy (INA): 19-22 years.
- Air Force Academy (AFA): 19-23 years.
- Officers Training Academy (OTA): 19-25 years.
- Educational Qualification:
- A master’s degree from a reputed university is the requirement.
- Final year students are also eligible, but there should be no backlogs.
- Physical Standards:
- There should be a certain height, weight, and chest measurement.
- Medical Standards:
- They should be clear of any diseases or disability.
- Specific Considerations:
- Women Candidates: Women are only eligible to apply for Officers Training Academy (OTA).
- Divorced Women: Divorced women are eligible on condition that they are issueless and possess requisite documents.
- BTech Graduates: BTech graduates are eligible for IMA, INA, and AFA.
UPSC CDS 1 Admit Card Link
The UPSC CDS 1 2025 admit card (hall ticket) can be downloaded from the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in. To download, go to the site, click on the “E-Admit Cards” option, and find the CDS 1 2025 admit card link. You will require your registration number/roll number and date of birth to download the hall ticket.
EXAM Cut Off Marks
- The estimated CDS 1 2025 cut-off marks for the Indian Military Academy (IMA) are 120 and 130.
- For the Indian Naval Academy (INA) are 105 and 120, and for the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA) are 145 and 150.
- The Officers Training Academy (OTA), the estimated cut-off for men is 100 and 110. These are estimates and the actual cut-off marks can be different.
Syllabus
The CDS 1 syllabus consists of three major subjects: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. For the IMA, AFA, and INA courses, all three are covered, whereas for the OTA course, only English and General Knowledge are tested.
