 Eligibility Criteria


The minimum requirement is Class 6 completion for Backward Tribes and Class 8 completion for Indigenous Naga Tribes of Nagaland, as certified by the NBSE or an equivalent qualification from any recognized Board of School Education in India.

Physical Standards Examination (PSE)

Male

• Height: 5.3 feet / 162 cm (minimum)

• Chest: Normal – 78 cm (minimum), Expanded – 83 cm

• Weight: Must be appropriate to height according to medical requirements

Female


• Height: 5.0 feet/152 cm (minimum).

• Chest: Normal – 74 cm (minimum), Expanded – 79 cm

• Weight: Must be proportionate to height according to medical guidelines.

Medical Fitness:

Candidates will have a medical examination conducted by physicians, assessing several parameters such as height, weight, chest, visual acuity, color vision deficiency, varicose veins, flat feet, knock knees, strabismus, deformities, etc., to determine their fitness for police duties.


Candidates must undertake medical examinations, including an opioid test for comprehensive drug screening and an alcohol abuse test. Candidates who test negatively or positively shall be disqualified and ineligible for appointment.


Female candidates must undergo a pregnancy test. If tested positive, the chosen candidates will participate in the subsequent training session, and the salary for the selected female candidates will commence from the start date of training, not from the date of selection.


The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be administered exclusively to applicants who satisfy the Physical and Medical Standards. The PET will include a running race, pull-up, long jump, and high jump.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age Limit: 18 years

• Maximum Age Limit: 38 years

• One-time age relaxation as per P&AR OM NO.AR/ESTT-10/4/2024/297 dated 26/02/2024.

• Age concession for current government employees would be granted in accordance with government notifications.

Application Fee

• An Examination Fee of ₹300 (Three Hundred Rupees only) is required, payable online. The fee is non-reimbursable.

• Commencement of Online Applications: 06 October 2025 (12:00 PM)

• Deadline for Online Applications: 07 November 2025 (3:00 PM)

Selection Procedure

Physical/Medical Standards Test:

Candidates must present a copy of their Admit Card (produced via the Nagaland Police Registration platform), a Naga Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate of Nagaland, and proof of Date of Birth and Identity (as uploaded on the platform).

Physical Efficiency Assessment:


• Outdoor assessments shall occur prior to the written examination. Only candidates who meet all physical and medical standards will be permitted to participate in the subsequent exams.
Candidates must successfully complete the outdoor tests (Physical Efficiency Test) outlined below to be eligible for the written examination.

Written Examination:

• Only candidates deemed fit according to physical/medical standards and who have successfully completed the Physical Efficiency Tests (PET) will be invited to the written examination on the designated date(s) and venue(s) to be announced.
The examination paper will consist of multiple-choice questions, totaling 80 items for a maximum of 40 marks.
The allotted time to complete the examination will be 2 hours.


The examination paper will be composed exclusively in the English language.


• The MCQ may encompass inquiries pertaining to general awareness, general knowledge, science, Indian history, Indian polity, social sciences, fundamental mathematics, sports, Naga culture and heritage, Nagaland state and Naga tribes, as well as general mental aptitude assessments, among others.


The merit list will be established based on the cumulative marks achieved by applicants in the outdoor tests (physical efficiency tests) and the written test, at a ratio of 1:3 (i.e., three candidates for each position), and they will be invited for the interview.

List of Merits:

Upon successful completion of the Physical/Medical Standards Tests and Physical Efficiency Tests, a merit list will be compiled based on the cumulative scores achieved by candidates in the Physical Efficiency Tests, written examination, NCC certification, and interview.


The declaration of results shall be considered the offer letter.


Any applicant unwilling to accept must submit their written non-acceptance within thirty (30) days from the date of result declaration.


Subsequently, their appointment letter will be issued.

Application Procedure

Only online submission of the application form is permitted, and applicants shall be accountable for the information provided by them.


• Application forms may be submitted online using the Nagaland Police Registration Portal (https://nagalandpolicerecruitment.in).


• Application forms will not be distributed from the Police Headquarters or any offices of the Commissioner of Police/Superintendents of Police.


The Department shall not be liable for applications made to any other offices or establishments of the Nagaland Police, except from the aforementioned Online Registration Portal.


• Applications will be promptly rejected if any document is determined to be counterfeit or falsified, and the candidacy of such applicants may be disqualified or annulled at any point during the recruiting process, including post-selection.


No appeals regarding the rejection of application forms will be considered.


The admission card will be generated upon successful completion of the online application procedure and can be downloaded shortly thereafter.
